<Blows dust from his keyboard>
Let me just start by saying that I hate overcast days. And a very overcast day is what I found when I turned up at Brands Hatch race circuit a few months ago. Since I was there pretty much just to shoot stuff for my own portfolio I thought I would go a little nuts and try some long exposure, high blur shots. Knowing up-front that the failure rate of my shots were going to be very high I snapped away like a crazy person figuring I might get something decent somewhere down the line.
- A few months later -
Finally got around to looking at the photos that I took and sure enough a large percentage of them were trash. Apart from a select few.
And here is my favorite, click on the thumb to see a full sized version.
This is a shot of a Chevron B16 that I snapped as it roared past me down the back straight of the Brands Hatch GP track. I honestly don’t know how I got it that sharp considering the car is probably doing the best part of 130mph and the shutter speed was only 1/25th of a second! I haven’t done any “shop” work on this photo at all. All I have done is colour grade it and then crop it to the rather insane aspect ratio you see here.
Enjoy!
